County Hall Tories have refused to back down in the face of a Lib Dem demand for the County Council to stop wasting taxpayers’ money, by putting an end to its legal action against the 1 Star Rating it recently received from Ofsted.

Last night the Epsom & Ewell Planning Committee:
- Approved two new houses replacing an existing house in Aragon Avenue;
- Refused an extension of AutoTest, Ruxley Lane and new flint walls with illuminated signs at Holiday Inn Express in Langley Vale Road;
- Confirmed tree preservation orders at Burnet Grove, Hylands Mews,
Thorndon Gardens, Satis Court in Epsom Road, 2 locations in East Street, Drummond Gardens and Gainsborough Road.

At Planning I felt the signs outside the new racecourse motel on Epsom Downs were just too large. The committee agreed, so we rejected them!

Anyone who attended the recent Town Hall meeting about Epsom Hospital, hoping to hear a clear statement about its future, came away disappointed. There was very little hard news - but at least none of it was bad.
